Technical Assistant – Forage Crops

The successful candidate will report to the Forage Technical Manager, assisting in all day-to-day activities of the Forage crops trials team based at North Clifton.

• To assist with maize drilling & harvesting, working with other LG technical staff on trials preparation, drilling, cultivation, spraying, harvesting, sampling, scoring.

• To assist with the maintenance of the NC demonstration area. Mowing, spraying, weeding, fleecing, cultivations etc.

• To assist in all preparation, drilling and harvesting of trials at NC, grass, herbage, brassicas, and environmental demonstration.

• Assist in the collection of data.

• To work both independently and as part of a team.

• To work carefully and to understand fully the need accuracy in all that we do – weighing, recording, data collection.

Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate attention to detail and be a team player.

This position is on a Fixed Term Contract for 18 months.
